Fantastic velocity, the most outstanding feature of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed line.

Three-hundred kilometers per hour, that means you can travel at 80 meters every second the clock counts.

The once day-long trip now is reduced to 4 and a half hours, bringing great convenience to passengers.

Adding to its advantage, you can also surf the Internet via 3G mobile phones, browsing news and checking E-mails.

Walking through the VIP business carriage, you feel as if you're in first class on a plane but with more space.

Here, the chair can be rotated, and you can also lie on the seat to enjoy the trip.

Behind the VIP carriage are the first and second-class carriages.

Meanwhile,it is also convenient for the disabled.

A special area is set up for them, where they can store their wheelchairs.

All the outstanding features are the latest examples of China's astonishing drive to modernize its railway infrastructure.

Zhao Guotang, Chief Engineer of Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway Co. said "The Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway reflects a big step for China's railway development. It includes the high stability of bridges and tunnels, smooth-riding features, a reliable telecommunication system."

The railway links the country's five major transport hubs, including Beijing, Tianjin and Jinan.

Many say it will be a great boom for local economies.

Exectutive Vice Mayor of Jinan City said "We're planning the establishment of a new city centered around the high-speed railway, it's expected to cover more than 100 square kilometers."

Being the longest high-speed railway in the world, the Beijing-Shanghai line connects a quarter of China's population and more than 40-percent of its economic power. It means more residents are expected to enjoy the anticipated boom on the tracks.
