A new bridge which stretches 40 kilometers over the sea and is the longest of its kind in the world, has just opened to traffic in east China's Shandong Province. 

Known as the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, it will greatly shorten the time to travel from downtown Qingdao to the two offshore islands of Huangdao and Hongdao. The bridge set a record with the building of more than 5 thousand pillars on the seabed.

All waste is recycled to ensure there is no pollution at sea. At the same time, the Qingdao undersea tunnel is also opening to traffic.
