A South Korean military source has reported that a marine corporal has gone on a shooting rampage at a base on Ganghwa Island, west of Seoul.

A wounding marine is carried after he got an emergency medical service at a hospital in Gimpo near the Ganghwa Island in South Korea, Monday, July 4, 2011.

It is understood three marines have been killed and another three injured.

The assailant was also wounded in the incident, but was captured.
