A ten-year-old snow tiger mother in northeastern China has given birth to quintuplets. All five of the cubs are white. A rarity, even among snow tigers.

There is a male cub and four females. A technician at the Tiger Park says there are only 30 to 40 white snow tigers in China. A white tiger mother usually gives birth to about two or three cubs per time.

Because of the low survival rate of the white tiger, the keeper is closely observing the five animals. They are providing the mother with milk and eggs to enhance nutrition.

Wild white tigers are almost extinct, and most of them are artificially propagated.
