Enjoying a cold beer or two is a fun way to cope with the sweltering summer heat in Beijing, and it's even better if you can do it at a beer festival. The First Beijing International Beer Festival is currently underway at the Xiedao Resort in east Beijing and will run through August 15th. And before that event ends, the CDR Beer Festival will kick off on August 12th and run through August 28th at the Shijingshan Amusement Park in west Beijing.
Both festivals are just two examples of China's emerging beer culture that has been sweeping through its major cities. If anything, attending a beer festival is a great way to taste foreign ales, pilsners, and lagers, while possibly making a few new friends along the way.
