China's Huawei Technologies Company, the world's number two network equipment maker, launched its cloud computing smart phones Wednesday.

The company is looking to take advantage of a mobile industry boom that drove an over 60 percent sales rise in its devices unit in the first half.

Huawei is betting its new model will help it replicate its telecom gear success in the booming smart phone market. It's taking on industry giants, Nokia, Apple and Samsung.
