China's duo Lin/Qin win 1st gold in diving at Universiade

China has grabbed yet more gold medals in the 2011 Universiade, currently taking place in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen.

Qin and Lin successfully finished their final dive in an impressive fashion. With a margin of 34 points, the pair won China's first gold in diving.

World Champion teammed up with National Champion Lin Jin in the men's 1 meter synchro springboard. The pair held onto a healthy lead after four dives thanks to their almost flawless execution.

However, the duo failed to complete the next dive successfully. This error put their gold hope in danger.

The drama continued as their closest rivals from Japan also tumbled in their fifth dive as the Chinese pair relieved.

Eventually, Qin and Lin successfully finished their final dive in an impressive fashion. With a margin of 34 points, the pair won China's first gold in diving.
