China's women's national football squad took on The Netherlands in a friendly on Monday. This one, a warm-up match for the Chinese as the side gets ready for the start of its 2012 Olympic qualifiers.
However, the hosts suffered a blow 21 minutes into the match. Defender Zhang Yanru sends it back to the keeper, but her poor clearance falls right to the Dutch forward, and her strike finds the back of the net to give The Netherlands a 1-nil lead.
But the Chinese would answer later in the first half. Ma Jun, with a fantastic individual effort, as she steals it from the defender, finds a little space, and then buries to tie the game at 1's. There would be no scoring the rest of the way though, as China and the Netherlands would play out the 1-1 draw.
