The Shanghai Masters has been treating the fans to some sensational snooker over the past couple of days and lastnight was no different. Martin Gould staged an unbelievable fightback from 3-0 down to beat home favourite and Chinese star Ding Junhui.

Martin Gould is ranked 15 in the world, and is known for twice beating Hong Kong's Marco Fu in the World Championships. He and Ding started their match nervously but Ding clinched a scrappy opener 81-26.

Ding took the next two 61-1 and 119-14 and appeared well on his way to a comfortable victory in front of home fans.

However, players Tour Championship Grand Finalist Gould had other ideas and quickly drew level - aided by a break of 88 in frame five when he was on course for a maximum. Gould came back to win three frames in a row, and tied the match at 3-all.

Ding made an error in the seventh frame, and handed Gould a golden opportunity. Gould took the lead for the first time at 4-3. A series of daring shots in the last brought him a memorable 5-3 win.

Ding Junhui said, "This is the result, as all of you can see. Don't ask me more."

In other action, China's Liang Wenbo took on Neil Robertson from Australia. Neil looked determined again. He took the first three frames in a row, and continued his return to form with an easy 5-1 victory, advancing to the last 16.
