Switching to the catwalks of London, rebel Vivienne Westwood wowed the crowd at London Fashion Week with a unique mix of classic design, space-age hair and rainbow makeup. A more grounded collection was offered by Issa designer Daniella Helayel who took a trip back to her Brazilian roots.

The clothes, for Westwood's spring and summer 2012 Red Label collection came from the last 20 years of her formidable archives. But the presentation was ultramodern thanks to the spectacular hair pieces worn by some of the models.

Still, she seemed more interested in environmental issues than in fashion, using the show as a platform to tout a plan for saving the planet's rain forests from destruction.

Vivienne Westwood said, "I try to use my fashion to talk about things that I really care about, do some good in the world if possible. I think fashion is a life enhancing thing to do I think it is great fashion but I still think you should buy less and choose well and make it last. "

Westwood's show drew a number of celebrities, including artist Tracey Emin, who joined the crowds backstage to toast the designer.

Tracey Emin, artist, said, "Vivienne is a maverick, you never know what she is going to say next, you never know what she is going to create next."

Issa designer Daniella Helayel has gone back to her Brazilian roots for her spring/summer 2012 collection.

Models pranced the catwalk to chilled samba tunes in fruit print dresses in tropical tones. Her prints and palette were inspired by the natural scenery and architecture of Brazil.

Also as part of the London Fashion Week, Julien MacDonald's collection was glamorous, sexy, and sure to be found on many red carpets and luxury yachts.

The designer was inspired by Japanese tattoo art.

The stunning evening dresses had intricate designs embroidered on transparent tulle and were breathtakingly labor intensive to create.

There were jackets based on the classic tuxedo, in black and

white with sharp lapels, colored silk tunic dresses and towering silver heels.
