China Southern Airlines will soon fly its first Airbus A380 - dubbed the "Big Mac" - on its Beijing-Shanghai and Beijing-Guangzhou routes, as a series of "experience flights". The aircraft is scheduled to be delivered on October 15th and will be placed in service just two days later.

The A380 is the largest civilian aircraft in the world with over 500 seats, comprising about 430 economy seats, 70 business class seats, and even 8 ultra-luxurious first class seats. China Southern has ordered five A380s in total, the first purchase of them in China. Airbus - the world's largest civil jet maker aims to increase its market share in China to 50 percent by 2015.
