The 2011 Badminton World Federation Super Series Final is coming to China for the first time. The event is known as one of the biggest championships in the sport, next only to the Sudirman Cup, the Thomas / Uber Cup, and the World Championships.

The BWF Super Series Final will be staged in Liuzhou, in China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The series’ top eight seeds will battle for the crown in the spectacular finale.

China’s Lin Dan has been under the spotlight because of his withdrawal from last two Super Series events. His team’s head coach had this to say about Super Dan’s scheduling decisions.

Li Yongbo, head coach of China Badminton Team, said, "Quitting matches may have some influence on Lin Dan’s total scores. But I think it is quite normal that a player didn’t get ideal scores in some matches. For a brilliant and top-ranking player like Lin Dan, he doesn’t and couldn’t put all his energy in each and every match in a whole year. No matter what shape Lin Dan is in, he has to attend the matches, unless he thinks he already has got enough scores. Taking this positive attitude is not a bad thing at all. Of course it isn’t in our hands to arrange."
