Libya's Eid mixes sorrow with celebration

Libya is also observing Eid al-Ad-ha, but with an estimated 15 thousand killed during the recent war in Libya, many are not up to celebrating. As Stephanie Freid reports, this year's holiday is a mixture of emotions in post-war Libya.

The Hamza family lives in a tight knit community on the outskirts of Tripoli.
They are readying for the Eid holiday like other nationals: cleaning, cooking and they've bought sheep for the main feast.
But this year, a key figure will be missing in their household.
Mohammed Hamza was killed in August while fighting in Libya's war. He was twenty years old.

Hulud Hamza, Mohammed's Sister, said, " From the start he told us he wanted to fight. He told us, if you love me you will support waht I'm doing. When he told me, I didn't accept the idea of him being a martyr."
Mohammed left behind sisters and brothers, parents and extended family members who keep his memory alive.
Town residents, also proud of Mohammed, have paid public tribute to him.
