Cultural and Creative Industry Expo opens in Beijing

The 6th China Beijing International Cultural and Creative Industry Expo held its opening ceremony at the Great Hall of The People on Wednesday. The Expo is an international gala of the cultural and creative industry, co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture, The State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the General Administration of Press and Publication and the Beijing Municipal Government.

The 6th China Beijing International Cultural and Creative Industry Expo held its opening ceremony at the Great Hall of The People on Wednesday. 



Liu Binjie, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, declared the event opened. The audience was treated to a feast of entertainment including a show titled, "Ballet on the Piano", which gave folks a fresh new dance experience.

Another show called "Beijing Memories" echoed the theme of the Expo, which is "Combining Culture and Technology, Driving Development with Innovation".

She Yungao, Deputy Director of the organizing committee's office, explained the different aspects of this year's expo and the event's theme.

She Yungao said: "There are four major main characteristics of this year's expo. First, it greatly promotes the original culture brands by combining technology, culture and creativity. The characteristic of combination is much more distinct this year compared with before. Secondly, the expo is building a platform of cultural market to make more people from different countries and regions of the world to learn more about Chinese culture. Thirdly, it explores the cultural consumption market. Last, wide participation coming from home and abroad has showed that the brand of the expo has been strengthened."
