In Durban protesters have marched through the South African city on Saturday, demanding actions on climate change.

Protesters swarmed through the city’s central business district before arriving at the International Conference Centre, the venue for the COP-17 negotiations. Top United Nations climate official, Christiana Figueres, then addressed the crowd and thanked them for making their voice heard.

The march later continued to the Durban beach-front where it is expected to end with a concert. Despite heavy police presence along the route, there have been no reports of disturbances or violence. The climate change talks will continue into next week, where a segment will be hosted by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
