Argentina’s newly inaugurated president, Cristina Fernandez has sworn in her new ministers, and later celebrated the occasion by singing alongside Argentine music star Charly Garcia.

Thousands of ardent followers lined a parade route leading to the Presidential Palace where she swore in her new cabinet, including her sister-in-law, the sister of former President Nestor Kirchner, Alicia Kirchner. She becomes the new Minister of Social Development.
Meanwhile, most members of the Cabinet remain the same, so people won't expect much new from the new government. Fernandez won a landslide re-election in October on the back of sizzling economic growth. One of her first priorities now will be to usher 2012’s budget through before the end of the year. With a majority in Congress, that should be a foregone conclusion.
