Christmas simply would not be Christmas without a beautiful tree. But how can you decorate your house or office with a Christmas tree without impacting the environment? Well, one hotel in China has found a way.

Staff at a hotel in Lincang City, in China's southwestern Yunnan Province have built a Christmas tree by using 20,000 plastic bottles. They said that in past years, a fir tree has been purchased to stand in the hotel lobby.

But this year, they decided to take a different approach in order to protect the environment.

The five-meter high tree took three days to build, and is expected to be completed in the next few days.

It has already attracted the attention of several hotel clients and passers-by who have stopped to admire the festive decorations.
