U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has denied the United States was involved in the death of Iranian scientist Ahmadi-Roshan. He made the remarks during an address to soldiers in Fort Bliss,Texas.
The Iranian nuclear scientist’s car was blown up by a bomb placed by a motorcyclist on Wednesday. Iranian media said the chemical engineer’s driver also died, and a passer-by was slightly hurt.
Leon Panetta said, "We were not involved in any way, in any way with regards to the assassination that took place there. I’m not sure who was involved, we have some ideas to who might be involved but we don’t know exactly who is involved. But I can tell you one thing the United States was not involved in that type of effort. That’s not what the United States does."
