Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah has welcomed visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao at the Royal Palace in Riyadh. Both Abdullah and Wen agreed that the two countries should further promote bilateral ties under the strategic framework.

Wen noted that Saudi Arabia has played a significant role in the regional and international affairs. He also said that China respects Saudi Arabia's political system and culture, and is willing to develop a comprehensive and energetic partnership with Saudi Arabia. He also spoke of China's willingness to expand cooperation on trade, investment, infrastructure, and finance.
Abdullah praised China's friendly policy toward Saudi Arabia, and stressed the importance of his country's friendship with China. He also proposed the establishment of a high-level commission between the two countries, in order to supervise cooperation on political, cultural, economic, and security fields.
The two leaders attended a signing ceremony for a number of bilateral agreements after the meeting. Premier Wen also met with the president of the Saudi Arabia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Abdullatif al-Zayani.
