Rescuers have found 5 more bodies, raising the confirmed death toll to 11, with 24 still missing. An Italian Coast Guard official said there was little hope that survivors would be found on parts of the vast cruise liner that have yet to be searched.
Italian Navy divers have carried out another controlled explosion alongside the shipwrecked cruise liner Costa Concordia, as they raced against the clock to create new routes into the vessel in order to find potential survivors.
The vessel's Italian operator has accused its jailed captain of causing the wreck, saying he made an unapproved maneuver to divert the vessel from its programmed course. Meanwhile, a recording of the captain's conversation with an Italian Coast Guard official released Tuesday indicates he fled before all passengers were safely off and then refused to return.

A judge will decide on Tuesday if Schettino should stay in custody, as requested by prosecutors. He could face up to 12 years in prison on the abandoning ship charge alone.
Fears are also growing that the cruise liner's 2300 tonnes of fuel may leak into the sea, after it slid on the seabed on Monday.
The cruise was carrying more than 4,200 people when it hit a reef off the Italian island of Giglio late Friday night.
