Clashes between police and protesters continue near the Egyptian Interior Ministry in Cairo. Protesters hurled rocks at police who responded with tear gas during running skirmishes.

Local residents say the protests were affecting local businesses with shops closing down and cars destroyed.
Egypt has plunged into a new cycle of violence recently with 12 people killed in the last four days.
The clashes were sparked by anger at the authorities' inability to prevent a riot following a football match in Port Said last week that left 74 dead.
