If you're still thinking about getting the latest iPhone 4S in China, you can now choose from two companies. China Telecom has signed a deal with Apple to sell it, starting March 9th -- making it the nation's second telecommunications company to sell the device after China Unicom. China Telecom, the smallest of China's big three carriers, said today (Tuesday) that online applications will be taken from March 2.

Second company to sell Iphone in China: China Telecom.

Packages include a two-year contract with a service plan costing 389 yuan - or about 60 USD - a month, and a free 16GB handset or a three-year plan which cuts the monthly minimum to 289 yuan. Analysts predict that China Telecom will be able to sell about 1.4 million iPhones this year. For Apple, adding China Telecom as a distributor in the world's largest mobile-phone market almost doubles the number of potential buyers who get handsets from service operators. It's also expected to boost Apple's presence in China, where it is embroiled in a lawsuit with a local company over the iPad name.
