Heavy fog has blanketed many areas of northern China. Visibility on Saturday morning was less than 50 meters in Linzi, Shandong province. Thick fog covered most of the city and led to the closure of major expressways.
In Beijing, major expressways were also closed, and a number of flights were delayed or canceled.
A cold front is also moving in, with most of the northern China forecast to see a decrease of 6 to 10 degrees Celsius over the coming three days.
