Designer Ji Wenbo presented his Autumn-Winter collection on Thursday at the Beijing Hotel. Ji became the first Chinese designer to unveil a collection at the Milan fashion week back in 2007 and is also the winner of countless awards. This time he prepared a collection with a heavenly twist.

The day for the audience starts at the show. But by this time designer Ji Wenbo, has already put in some long hours. He must comb over every detail of the show beforehand. And he's clearly excited to get started.

Ji Wenbo said, "It's always very exciting preparing for a show, I really hope I can get my ideas across to the audience. But to achieve that the designer must look into every detail to make sure the show goes smoothly."

The showcase kick off with Ji's original custom-tailored designs for women, followed by a display of elaborate headwear. Seems pretty straightforward, but according to the models, there more than that meets the eye.

A model said, "His designs are inspired by religion, but he puts that under his own framework. Using his favorite fabrics such as cotton and silk he brings religious elements together with modern culture."

These elements became more explicit in the designs and music as the show progressed. Ji hopes this tickles audiences' curiosity.

Ji Wenbo said, "I wish to invite the audience to look at fashion in a new light by including religious elements, so that's the reason I made belief the main theme. "

Ji's unique perspective has even gained him an international following.

An audience member said, "The show is perfect, I really like the combination of the clothes, shoes and music."

Hu Sheguang, designer, said, "I myself am a fashion designer in Europe, and am really impressed with his new attempts in the collection. I think this is the path that a Chinese designer ought to take if they want to make it on the world stage."

CCTV's Stanley Lee said, "As we wrap yet another showcase of Ji Wenbo's collections, it is clear that he has been exploring various styles over the years, and is always bringing changes with his fresh ideas. But what remains unchanged is his unwavering belief in beauty and his persistence towards that goal. Qualities he hopes will be shared by more Chinese designers as they make their way to the world stage."
