Hainan Province has received approval to build wharf in the Xisha Islands. It’s part of plans to develop the tourism industry. The State Oceanic Administration has issued a brief statement on its website.

The wharf will be built on Jinqing Island in the Xishas. It will occupy more than 300 hectares of marine area.

The wharf is designed to provide services and materials for the development of tourism and fishery industries in the South China Sea. A private enterprise will invest in and build the project.

Hainan Province has received approval to build wharf in the Xisha Islands.

The Xisha Islands are located in the South China Sea where some disputed islands are located. The Philippines says the country will set up a primary school and small wharfs on a disputed island in Nanshas in June this year.

Meanwhile, as for the Huangyan Island, China has responded to the Philippines’ recent claim to sovereignty over the Island. It says the Philippines claims are groundless.

The Fishery Administration ship "Yuzheng 310” has already left the Huangyan Island area. And China is ready to settle the maritime stand-off through friendly diplomatic consultations.
