China has lodged solemn representation and protests to Japan for violating its territorial sovereignty. The protest came one day, after two Japanese right-wing activists landed on the Diaoyu Islands on Thursday.

Media reports say Hitoshi Nakama, a local politician from Okinawa, and another person reached Beixiao Island, an islet of the Diaoyu Islands in the East China Sea. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Liu Weimin reiterated that the Diaoyu Island and its affiliated islands have been China’s inherent territory since ancient times.

Liu Weimin, spokesperson of Chinese Foreign Ministry, said, "The illegal acts of the Japanese right wing activists severely violate Chinese territorial sovereignty. The Chinese side has made solemn representations and protests to the Japanese side."
