5th ministerial conference of FOCAC comes to an end

The fifth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation has offically come to an end. On Friday, the two sides highlighted their agreements through the release two documents.

Highlighting achievements. Following two days of major discussion and consultations. Both sides have agreed to released two documents - the Beijing declaration and Beijing Action Plan - laying out a roadmap for political end economic cooperation to come.

Lu Shaye, Director Dengeral in Africa Division, M.F.A. said, "The two documents layed out the groundwork for development over the next three years. They are important achievements of this conference and have raised Sino-African cooperation to a new standard."

Compared with traditional cooperation fields such as trade, financing and infrastructure.

Beijing Action plan has highlighted more cooperation in new fields such as people to people exchanges and African integration.

This is welcomed by African leaders.

Hailemariam Desalegn, Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia, said, "We have to cooperate in multilateral issues...."

President Hu Jintao began laying this out right from the beginning. During the opening ceremony he announced a number of new measures to assist Africa including 20 billion US Dollars in loans to boost investment, personal exchanges and peace and security.
