London 2012 volunteers got a royal thank-you on Friday, when Britain’s Prince William and his wife, Kate, dropped by Team GB’s headquarters at the Olympic Park.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived just in time to join in the celebrations for Britain’s latest Olympic champions - and a new world record for the men’s team pursuit cycle team.

The royal couple had specially asked for the visit saying it was their way of thanking the thousands of Olympic volunteers for their hard work during the London Games.
