Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi has met with the Syrian president's special envoy, Bouthaina Shaaban, in Beijing.

During the meeting, Yang reiterated China's stance on Syria, saying it hopes the Syrian government and the opposition coordinate with the international mediation efforts. He also briefed Shaaban on contact between China and the opposition groups in Syria.

Shaaban said Syria's government is ready to work with relevant parties, to make the government and the opposition forces stop the violence at the same time. She also said the Syrian government is willing to launch an inclusive dialogue with the opposition, in order to restore stability in the country.
