Typhoon Bolavan has landed in Northeast China as a tropical storm, bringing torrential rain and strong winds. This comes after typhoon Bolaven wreaked havoc in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on Tuesday.
The latest images from the National Meteorological Center showed Bolaven travelling at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour. Though the storm has weakened, Jilin Province has issued an alert for potential landslides and flooding that are feared could uproot trees and damage utility lines. Up to 280 millimeters of rain is expected in parts of Liaoning Province.
