The Chinese Ministry of Railways has rolled out the plan for the coming travel peak season, as millions of travellers plan to enjoy mid-autumn festival and national holiday.

Altogether 75.4 million people are expected to travel by railway during the 11-day break, with an average of 6.86-million people per day. That is a five percent increase from that of last year.

The travel peak is expected to begin October 1st, with up to 9 million predicted to travel by railway, 3.2 million more than 2011. 48 trains will be added to help to balance the numbers, and 32 additional travel trains will be sending people between major tourist destinations.
