Chinese tennis star Li Na will hit the court in Tokyo this week despite a lingering cold as the Pan Pacific Open kicked off on Sunday.
Three weeks ago, the world-ranked No. 8 suffered a surprise defeat at the U.S. Open to British youngster Laura Robson. She then said she needed to take a break from the sport.
Li is expected to be joined in Tokyo by her fellow Chinese tennis players Zheng Jie and Peng Shuai. The former French Open champion said she only had her eye on the game.
Li said, "You know, my goal is to, I wish to be in the champions. So not so many time left, I have to be hard working even more than before."
