Republican presidential nominee, Mitt Romney, has reacted to the new jobs report, saying the economy remains weak. He argues the unemployment rate would be closer to 11 percent, if it included those who had given up looking for work.

Mitt Romney said, "Now we can do better. We don’t have to stay on the path we've been on. We can do better. There was a report that just came out this morning on job creation this last month. There were fewer new jobs created this month than last month. And the unemployment rate as you noted this year has come down very, very slowly. But it's come down nonetheless. The reason it's come down this year is primarily due to the fact that more and more people have just stopped looking for work."
