China's marine surveillance fleet has expelled a number of Japanese vessels illegally sailing in waters around the Diaoyu Islands. The State Oceanic Administration says 4 China Marine Surveillance ships encountered the Japanese vessels at around 10 a.m. Tuesday while on routine patrol. They conducted surveillance over the Japanese vessels and took photos as evidence.

The fleet also radioed the Japanese vessels to reiterate China's sovereignty over the Diaoyu Islands and the waters around them. Chinese surveillance ships have been continuing routine patrols and law enforcement activities in waters around the Diaoyu Islands.

Earlier on Sunday and Thursday, the Chinese fleet also spotted Japanese Coast Guard ships and told them to immediately leave China's territorial seas.
