Calen Carr gave Beckham's farewell party an early stun when he raced into the area and fired the opener in the 44th minute.

The Galaxy equalized though through Omar Gonzalez's long-range header in the 61st minute.

Beckham swung in a freekick, which resulted in an overhead kick that was handled by Ricardo Clark. Landon Donovan converted the spot kick to put LA ahead.

Houston keeper then tackled down a charging Robbie Keane in the box. Keane confidently buried his sixth goal of a spectacular six-game postseason run.

Beckham then left the game to a raucous standing ovation from the packed stadium amid chants of "Thank you, David!" The game was Beckham's final competitive appearance for the Galaxy after six seasons. The English midfielder bowed out as two-time MLS Cup champion. Beckham will play elsewhere in the new year before eventually returning to MLS as a team owner, but he hasn't disclosed his immediate plans.

Beckham said, "At the end of the day, winning the championship in my last game with Manchester United and then winning the championship in my last game with The Real Madrid, even though I was only on the field for 68-minutes, I think it was. And then winning the championship here, my last game, it never gets old. I spoke about it, the lead-up to this game, the feeling of making the final preparations, the feeling around the club, it never gets old. I am 37, and I've been able to play for quite a few finals and championship games. And I still love it like I did when I won my first."
