The cold weather continues. Strong cold fronts have pushed temperatures to their lowest this winter in most parts of China.

Drifting snow and high-winds in Urumqi, in northwestern China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, have stranded many passengers and vehicles.

Winds reached 115 kilometers per hour and temperatures were at minus 30 degrees Celsius.

Heavy snow battered the coastal city of Yantai in east China's Shandong Province, sending temperatures plummeting by over 10 degrees Celsius. The seawater froze as it lapped guard railings on the shore, offering a spectacle of glazed ice. After continued snowfall through the night, precipitation reached 20 centimeters in downtown Yantai.

And to Hukou Waterfall, located at the intersection of Shanxi and Shaanxi Province, due to recent low temperatures and continuous snowfalls, the riverbank was covered in snow, and as water splashed onto the bank it froze into icicles.
