President Hu Jintao has paid a four-day inspection visit to East China's Jiangsu Province to acquaint himself with the province's efforts in building a moderately prosperous society.
President Hu visited factories, schools and villages in Nanjing, Wuxi, Taizhou and Yancheng to learn how they are implementing the guidelines of the 18th CPC National Congress, and pursuing economic and social development.
At Huaxi in Wuxi, Hu toured one of the richest village in China. He visited an exhibition on the village's development and an agro-technical demonstration park. He was briefed on how the village has been developing modern agriculture. In Taizhou, Hu visited the 110-year-old Taizhou Middle School, where he was graduated from the school.
He toured the school museum and facilities, and planted a ginko tree on the school campus. He encouraged the school to fully implement the party's education policy and improve education quality so as to produce more talent for the country. He also chatted with students. Hu praised Jiangsu's efforts in promoting development.
