Tuesday, while the rest of the train was undamaged. The injured driver suffered a fractured nose and a bruise near the right eye. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and remained hospitalized there.

The local government has set up an investigation team to probe the accident. This was the third accident in two weeks relating to metro lines under construction in China.

Chen Junmin, driver of Kunming metro line, said, "My head is still aching now. The accident happened when we were running the train. An object appeared suddenly in front of us.
