A 21-year-old Chinese woman, who contracted the H5N1 strain of bird flu, has died in southwest China’s city of Guiyang. The Ministry of Health confirmed that the patient suffered multiple organ failures.

A 31-year-old man, also living in Guiyang, has been tested H5N1 positive. No indication of close contact with birds was found in either case.
