Houston is the place to be right now, if you are basketball fan, or player, it's the NBA All-Star Weekend in Texas. Jeremy Lin will be there the Rocket's star will compete in the Skills Challenge.

It's almost a year to the day since the Chinese guard started a sensation, or what became known as a "Linsanity" in 2012 he was playing in New York so how has the switch to Huston affected his profile.

The Linsation may have cooled down in the US, but the number 7 jersey and the face that goes with it continues to be a sensation in Asia.

Linsanity, took root about a year ago, when Jeremy Lin, an unknown rookie Harvard grad, came off the bench for the New York Knicks and became an NBA basketball superstar almost overnight.

In soon headlines are made across the United States, even making the list of Time magazine's "100 most influential people."

But he was soon picked up by the Houston Rockets for $25 million dollars after the Knicks couldn't match the deal, an unexpected move. So is the "Linsation" over? Some say bigger players like the Rocket's James Harden will overshadow Lin, but experts say Lin is still marketable as ever. And no doubt Lin is one of the few NBA stars with millions of fans around the world.

Corey Freundel, Active Imagination Sports Marketing, "Of course it's not New York, it's a different market, but it's an international market where he is new, but definitely, lots of potential here for all parties, retailers, and of course it's a way for him to start and show the world again."

NBA weekend kicks off here in Houston this weekend and Lin says he's ready. "I am just going to give it my best and look forward to the game. I love Houston and really glad to be here."

The second-half of the season kicks off after the All-Star Game and Lin says the Rockets are hoping to make the playoffs.
