Football superstar David Beckham is reportedly getting ready to use his star power to help promote China's top football league.

The English midfielder, who has just recently joined French Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint Germain, is apparently set to serve as, what is being called, an image ambassador for the Chinese Super League this season.

The agreement between Beckham and the league will reportedly see the former English captain participate in promotional activities for the league when his schedule permits.

Beckham could be on hand for the opening ceremony of the new season, if he is not doing duty for PSG in Champions League play. Following Beckham's announcement that he was leaving the LA Galaxy, he was the subject of much talk here in China, with Shanghai Shenhua believed to be his biggest suitor.

The team may have failed to land the superstar, but it appears fans here in China may still get their Becks fix later on this year. The new Super Leauge season starts on March 8th.
