Summer has come early in many parts of Asia... extreme temperatures have been recorded in Australia. India's Maharashtra has been hit with the toughest drought in recent 40 years, while South Korea has suffered forest fires.

The month of March has been a scorching one in Australia. For eight consecutive days, temperatures in Melbourne have hovered above 30 degrees Celsius. Weather forecasts say in the following three days, Melbourne is likely to see 35 degrees: a record high in 156 years.

Meanwhile, India's Maharashtra is suffering from the most severe drought in 40 years. Many farmers have had to sell their animals due to water shortages, sometimes selling them at half their original price.

"We don't even have water ourselves. How can we find water for our cattle? "

"We have nothing for them. I'm selling bits and bobs to be able to feed them."

Forest fires broke out in South Korea due to the dry heat, killing at least 4, injuring 14 others and destroying nearly 1.2 million square meters of forest.

In the city of Ulsan, a nearby fire forced over 2,000 people to be evacuated. The fire was put under control after 19 hours.
