During Chinese President Xi Jinping's trip to Moscow, his first overseas visit as head of state, China and Russia are expected to finalize deals on energy, trade and investment, and people-to-people exchanges.

Russian Ambassador to China Sergey Razov said, "The two sides will discuss the possibility of boosting Russia's oil supply to China from more than one direction. Talks about cooperating on natural gas, coal, and energy-saving projects are also on the agenda. I believe agreements on some projects will be signed during this visit."

More details on Xi Jinping's Russian trip have recently been announced. A joint statement is likely to be signed by Xi and Russian President Vladimir Putin, which defines the future prospects of Sino-Russia relations and key cooperation projects, including bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. The sides will also approve the renewal of the Sino-Russian Good-Neighbourly Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.

Xi is expected to attend a gala celebrating the continued "Year of Chinese Tourism in Russia" program. After that, he will give a speech at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and visit the Russian Defense Ministry. He will also attend the unveiling ceremony of a memorial at the building where the 6th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held in 1928. That session helped the CPC lay down its plans for future revolution.
