The China Consumer Association has asked tech-giant Apple to sincerely apologize to Chinese consumers, after the US firm took little action to address criticism of its after-sales policy.

The association says Apple should follow China's law and offer a minimum two year warranty period on ipads, which are categorized as portable computers. It's also calling on Apple to inform consumers if refurbished parts are used when repairing broken devices, and adjust repair costs accordingly.

The case arose after a CCTV report accused Apple of offering discriminatory after-sales services in China. Apple later issued a statement saying it's dedicated to making first-class products and attaches great importance to all consumers. The company has been accused of arrogance by some Chinese netizens.
