The other two cases were found in Jiangsu Province, bringing the total number of H7N9 infections to 24 so far. The good news is that a four-year-old boy in Shanghai has fully recovered from the disease. Almost half of all infections come from Shanghai. Three cases were reported in China’s Zhejiang Province, two of them fatal.

Jiangsu Province reported eight cases and Anhui Province had two. In total, seven people have been confirmed dead so far. The Ministry of Agriculture is speeding up its tests of poultry and livestock across the country, with Shanghai municipality, Anhui, Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces designated as the core monitoring areas.
