The 7-year-old Beijing girl infected with the H7N9 strain has been transferred from intensive care to an ordinary ward at Beijing Ditan Hospital. Hospital officials say the girl is now in a good condition and a good state of mind.

The girl's infection was confirmed early Saturday. She had been receiving treatment at the Hospital since Thursday. The girl's parents are live poultry traders in a township in suburban Shunyi District.

Beijing's municipal disease control and prevention center says 2 people who have had close contact with the child have been kept under medical observation and have not shown any flu symptoms.
