Long sleeves and lace wedding gowns are leading the bridal fashion pack in Manila. A fair in the city is offering wedding plans that are sure to satisfy the most discriminating brides-to-be.

Like a graceful swan, this satin creation glides down the runway.

Some of Manila's top designers and stylists are here to create the dream concept for some of the wealthiest Filipino families. Free flowing champagne helps anxious brides-to-be and their mothers get into the right mood for the Big Day.

The "Weddings at The Peninsula" bridal fair, now in its fourth year, offers couples a one-stop shopping event, where they can meet the country's top wedding suppliers. Engaged couples are on a passionate quest for their ideal weddings.

Stanley Ray Bantang, a visitor, said, "My vision of a wedding is different from hers, so it's more of blending or synergizing what we want, and making it as one, as we prepare for our wedding. I think that's the most challenging part."

Ande De Guzman & Jeremy Que, engaged couple, said, "For me as the bride, I definitely do not mind spending on the gown because that is one thing that will always be a classic. It's something that you always reflect on."

For the last 10 years, 49-year-old fashion designer Rhett Eala has been creating wedding gowns. He's known for his simple but classic and feminine bridal designs.

Rhett Eala, fashion designer, said, "Maybe a few years ago, it was all strapless, but now people are opting for more sleeves, more long sleeves, it's a trend now, and also a lot of lace."

Nearly 200 couples have attended this year's bridal fair.

January and December are the busiest months for weddings in the Philippines.

Traditionally, the groom's family takes care of the wedding expenses. But these days, it's not unusual for couples to split the cost, if that's what it takes to make their dream wedding come true.
