Five flights to Shenzhen were forced to take emergency action on Wednesday after receiving bomb threats. No bombs were actually found on any of the planes. Some passengers said they were hurt during the rush to get off the planes.

Juneyao Airlines received a threatening call referring to a flight from Shanghai. The plane returned to the city, but police found nothing suspicious onboard. A China Eastern Airlines flight landed halfway but was given the all-clear.

Shenzhen Airlines received multiple threats, with one flight from Nanjing returning to the city after take-off. A flight from Xi'an made an emergency landing in Guilin, while another from Beijing was delayed. All the bomb threats were received in the space of half an hour. Aviation officials say all the threats were false. Police have launched an investigation.
