Taiwan leader Ma Ying-jeou has reiterated that Taiwan will absolutely not accept the Philippines' description of the fisherman shooting incident as unfortunate and unintended.

On Tuesday, Ma again stressed Taiwan's solemn demands to the Philippines on resolving the incident, including a formal apology, an investigation into the fisherman's death and compensation for the death and to the damage to the fishing boat. Taiwan has imposed a slew of sanctions, including a freeze on the hiring of Filipino workers and a red travel alert discouraging travel to the Philippines.

According to officials from the Philippines Tourism Department, almost all Taiwan tourist groups have cancelled their trip to the Philippines, totaling around 9,500 tourists.
