Relief operations are underway in northeast China's Liaoning Province, which has been hit by rainstorms since Thursday.

Local flood control and drought relief offices issued a level-three emergency response and sent teams to flood-swept areas. Residents were left stranded by a landslide in Fushun, one of the most severely flood hit cities.

Firefighters were not immediately able to reach the area due to damaged roads. After repairing the road overnight, they managed to contact the residents early on Sunday and take them to a shelter. 19 reservoirs have been prepared in Dandong for possible flooding in the area.
